The Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems Program
The national Spinal Cord Injury Model Systems Program, funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), supports model projects to establish innovative programs for the delivery, demonstration, and evaluation of comprehensive medical, vocational, and other rehabilitation services to meet the wide range of needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries.
For the current 2006-2011 funding cycle, there are 14 SCI Model Systems nationwide and one National SCI Model System Data Center. Grants are awarded every five years on a competitive bases.
